Went to TPM for job interview today and continue with going to Mid Valley Megamall for a movie alone. Its been long time since I go out alone. It is fun you know going out all by yourself for sometime. So, reached Mid Valley and get myself a War of The World ticket 20 minutes before the screening time with the best seat ever, right in the middle of the cinema. So, you see here, when watching new movie, if you go with a group of people, the probability of getting a good seat is very low and you might ended up delaying the movie to later time or some other day. So, watching a new movie all alone is an advantage.
Back to War of The World. First I thought of Tom Cruise was having some important role in the movie, that is saving the world or some heroic act. But, it is actually story of him surviving through the attack by alien and protecting his children, especially his daughter - Rachel. So, no superheroes here okay. The movie is about the attack by alien who had planned the attack for long time. On the day of the attack, or lets call it war of the world to make it sounds cool, there were lightnings striking everywhere on earth at a specific point and lots of weird phenomenon is going on. Okay, skip that part. The alien spaceship came from the underground in a form of gigantic squid robot. Every human that it sees were killed and turned into ashes straight. What a powerful weapon.
So, Tom Cruise the main actor managed to survive every attack and run for hiding at a safe place. Then in the end, the alien spacecraft is having some error and its shield is gone and so the human attack the alien’s spacecraft and all were destroyed. The world is saved. Very weird ending. By the way, this movie is not suitable for children below 18. I noticed some mother brought their children along and their childrenare aged between 3-8 years old only. Some were crying and scared out of the movie. Damn annoying when encountering this. This is not kind of movie for kids. Kids, please keep away.
So, my conclusion on the movie is: The alien is bloodsucker and don’t know why the spacecraft burst out the blood the alien sucked and the whole town is full of frozen blood in a form like nerve. The alien looked stupid as Tom Cruise able to play hide and seek with them and they can’t be found. The humans are freaked out and even killed each other to get away from the alien attacks or to stay alive. At some part of the movie, I get annoyed and just felt like shouting at the actors in it. hahaha Wanna know why? Its because their acts are inhuman and annoying (not the real person ya, I am refering to the movie at some part where the humans were killing each other and some were shouting non-stop and can’t stay calm just like Tom Cruise). You will know if you watched it. Storyline? Not much story. Its all about the alien attack the world, everyone is running away, some get killed and Tom Cruise with his children running for their lives and survived the attack till the defeat of the aliens. And the movie ended just like that with the world ruinned into ashes and everyone returned to their home.
By the way, got myself a book by Dan Brown - the Da Vinci Code out of the curiosity of how good the book was. Saw the illustrated version, it was thick and came with a nice cover and price is high too. So, I found this pocket sized book and checked that the price is not so high (RM 34.90) and affordable. I decided to get it so I can read on my way back or on some other free time. There are two different publishers for the Da Vinci Code, so basically both’s contents are the same, so I decided on this one due to the better cover. The price were both the same.
