Big lotus is easier to learn, as it takes few steps only. But it requires 15 pieces of paper fold in such a way as shown in pictures below. Three of it to be sticked together, and so it makes 5 group of 3 folded paper. Tied with rubber band, shaped into star by bending it. Find alternate group and fold up the paper. For example, 3 from upper part, 2 from lower part. It makes 5 folds up. Then continue with the other alternate group on the top paper. So now left the two layer of paper. Do the same to the layer 2 with alternate fold up. For layer 3, fold half of it up, so it looks like a layer of the lotus. The outcome will be on the picture number 7,8 and 9. Just few shots from different angle. Enjoy. Happy folding.

Okay, from visiting the Project Million Lotus exibition, I get to learn how to fold lotus. Its so easy to learn and can be done within few minutes. All you need is a square shape paper. Do as shown on the pictures.

Lotus Fold 1

1. Fold all edges to make it into kite shape like in number 2
3. Fold one more time
4. Turn to other side and fold one time on all four edges (this to ease in the coming folds)
5. Open the folded part on number 4, and turn around. You will be back as on the position in number 3. Fold the triangle out and left quarter portion in the shape
6. Fold the inner triangle, but not fully

Lotus Fold 2

7. Same as number 6
8. The result of the fold
9. Turn around the paper
10. Fold the triangle to the middle point
11. The result of the fold. Hold it.
12. Notice there is some small triangle coming out in the middle, try bent in and pull it up untill u get this result.

Happy trying. Coming up next: How to fold a larger lotus. Btw, notice the white area after u turn around the paper with some words: I wish, Saya harap, and some in mandarin and tamil. That is the place where you put your wish on. :p

So, this weekend started with me going all the way to Orchard Road for late lunch and wondering around again. Self adventure/lone ranger. It is fun you know. So, took lunch at Subway. Then head over to Nge Ann City. I noticed some event is going on outside of it. So I dropped by and took some pictures of it. I think this event is in conjuction with coming Wesak Day. There are lots of stalls set up by charity people selling foods and drinks, souvenirs, free books and DVDs on Buddhism and some are having games with prices. Just like a big bazaar in the middle of the city.

Project Million Lotus - 2

So, what is this “Project Million Lotus”? Its a charity project welcoming everyone to take part in contributing by making lotus out of papers provided and all of it will be put on decoration just as the those at the pictures below. At the time I am there, the lotus count has reach over 2 million. Nice decoration isn’t it?

Apart from the lotus decoration, there is a big golden Buddha statue and some small statues which to let people pour water over the body like the one at the right picture above. I am not sure of the purpose though. Furthermore, there is some singing, band performance, talent-show at the other side of the tent. Very interesting talent were shown and I stand there for quite awhile watching the show. I wish I have a digicam at that time, so I can record everything of it and took better pictures of the events. hehe

Well, that’s all for the Project Million Lotus.

Lay's

Lay’s the most yummy potato chips ever, once you taste the crisp, you will never stop at one. There are more flavours such as sour cream and onion, BBQ, Salt and Vinegar and more that I have never come across. Quite expensive, but the stimulation you get from eating this is superb. Cost around SGD 3.30 here in Singapore, and RM 6.90 in Malaysia.

Check it out at its site here for the history, range of products, and advertisements clip. So, are you a Lay’s fan? Lets have a nice weekend relaxing with Lay’s. hoho Enjoy your weekend people. Get your smile on (quoted from Lay’s site).
