Following up on the post on: Life in Singapore and Life in Indonesia - Dumai or some other place in Indonesia, I can say they are very different.

Its like two different world. How can I feel it? Lately I have been spending most of my weekends in Batam Island - Indonesia. Due to its proximity from Singapore, it is easier to reach and not tiring.

So, going back and forth between Singapore and Batam - Indonesia, I can feel the difference clearly. Once you are in the developed area, high-tech, and high living standard, and the next few days you live in a simple, traditional, developing world, with simple life styles.

Another nice thing I felt when I was back in Indonesia, especially lately in Batam, I found myself looking in different perspective. I tend to look on how people live, how they work, how they conduct business. And also on how some people could just live as it is, simple but nice for them. And I’ve more mood on the entrepreneurship when I was back there. I read more magazines to see examples from people who have started and excel, look at few different business and what’s new in town that people is so profitable lately, and many more.

Some of the magazines I read and bought are:
Swa (Swasembada) and Duit!

These two are some of the good magazines to get some inspiration on Entrepreneurship. There is even the online articles version which you can check at www.swa.co.id

Other magazine is Info Franchise that covers on Franchising businesses. I can see that plenty of Indonesia’s SME business is slowly converting into franchise business after they have succeeded to capture the market’s business.

Its been a trend lately. But well, its still quite far for me, if I were to start in IT business. Its not as easy as ABC, lots of experiences and exposures needed in order to have the skills and experience for this business.

I hope I could get more inspiration and learn as many as I can, and perhaps I could go for one when I have the mind and knowledge.

Out of all, it is nice to be able to live and feel the life of few different cultures, living standard, trends and tradition. With that, you could have wider opened mind and could see things further. Apart from this, from chatting with few friends back home, more or less I got to know what is the improvement and how is the changes affect the community lately. I have been away from home for 4-5 months, its time to go back for holiday soon. And I gotta visit Pekanbaru if I have the time to, as I have not been there for more than a year. There must be a lot of changes and improvements I believe.

So much things about life. But, that is adult’s way of living. And I am getting older by a year soon within 1 and a half month time. Hope I could see things in wider perspective and better. Happy Monday blues.
