So here I am again, back in Singapore. After 2 days, I would say it is hard to forget home. I have this different feeling whenever I go back to Dumai - Indonesia, and when come back to Singapore again.

Its like two different world. What’s bad which I find it to be better here in Singapore? Check them out:
- There are dust and sands everywhere. The moment you step your foot outside, it will be dusty and your slippers or shoes will be covered with dust and get dirty all the time, even after you wash it, it will last until the next time you step your foot outside. Your face and body will be covered with dust as well that you will feel sticky and dirty after being outdoor for few minutes depending on how far you go. Vehicles are the same, it seems pointless to wash them.
- Forest burning still going on at some place, believed to be a new site for palm oil plantation. Almost every night there are smoke everywhere, causing irritations and breathing problem. Damn. It was proven right when I board on a plane to Batam few days back. From the sky I saw few spots with smoke still coming out and flown towards town. So, definitely not a clean air.
- Mosquitoes everywhere, even if your home is fully covered up with mosquitoes net. You will still get bitten by mosquitoes somewhere else, be it restaurants, in the car, people’s home, shops, hawker stalls by the road side, and anywhere else. Mosquitoes repellent is a must for everyday use and I will get lots and lots of bites everytime I am back home and all the bites are cleaned within 1 week when I am back in Singapore. The moment I reached Singapore and get clean up, there are lesser itchiness then, compare to still in Dumai.
- The water is yellowish and not clean. It seems like all the pipes are corrode. And the source is not filtered. Everytime you wash yourself with this water, it makes difference. Itchiness and worst effects on mosquitoes bites and any skin infections.
- Since the water is not so clean, people tend to buy clean water for drinking and cooking while still using the dirty water for normal daily washing and cleaning. Clean water are mostly from distilled sources and drilled well. Most people drink mineral water in a form of gallons in dispenser. Some who can afford will buy AQUA, VIT and other well known mineral water. Some will buy the gallon and fill it up at refill center at cheaper price.
- If you ride motorcycles, be ready to face dusts and sands that come into your eyes. Mostly resulted from a dusty and sandy road, with vehicles in front of you moving at certain speed. Wear sunglasses if you can and wear a jacket. Yeah, its that bad.
So these are some encounter back home and when I am back to Singapore again, I feel all the differences. Well, of course it is incomparable lah. A small town with a developed country. But what can do, its a place I gonna live in the future. Bo Ban Huat liaw, have to adjust to the environment.
