Lotek (Noodle in Peanut Sauce) Kampung Snack - Yiu Chang Kue

Apart from Newton Circus hawker center that is well know to everyone inside and outside of Singapore, there is another nice hawker’s center in Singapore that is less crowded and has almost every Singapore’s signature food and drinks. That is the Makan Sutra which is located just beside The Esplanade, or behind the Marina Square shopping center.

Me and friends often goes when we feel like having outdoor dining, especially when we are bored with the Indonesian foods. It is best when the weather is cool, and after rain.

Take a look at the surroundings and the settings. Its a nice place for dinner with friends. After dinner, you can always visit Esplanade for a theatrical movie, or walk around the bay, or go to the Merlion. And of course shopping around Marina Square and the other malls surrounding the City Hall.

Favorite foods here are seafoods and the Hokkien Mee (Prawn Noodle). Favorite drinks is sugarcane lemon. :)

First, lets check out what the seafood stall offer…

BBQ StingRay

Next is the steamed cockles…

And from the traditional chinese foods, here is the Fried Hokkien Mee (Prawn Noodle)

Follows by the fried oysters from the nearby stall

Aren’t they looked really nice?

Your dinner there can’t be complete without a dessert following. You can try the Ice Kacang or the other varieties of ice here, which is sold at the drink stall.

Anyway, I am coming to Singapore for a weekend this week. Will have to list out things I need to settle and what I need to eat. hehehe There might not be any Indonesian food for this time.
