While being away from Malaysia, it doesn’t stop us from enjoying the famous Ramli burger that we normally get from the pasar malam (night market) or the road side stalls.

I managed to get the frozen meat of Ramli Burger from Carrefour Malacca from my sister, and what left is our own creation of how we like to make it.

Bought some burger bread from the local bread shop, get some lettuce, onions, tomatoes and cucumbers. Chili sauce were the Indonesian’s famous chili sauce: Sambal ABC. And some scrambled eggs.

Its been awhile since I had J.CO donuts and I am missing it already. Singapore’s franchise is not open yet. Malaysia has opened both its branches I guess, one at Pavillion Bukit Bintang, and another at Sunway Pyramid 2. Sunway Pyramid 2 J.CO is still under renovation the last time I went there.

I can’t wait for coming 19th December for my J.CO to arrive from Batam. :) I hope I have the chance to have it again soon. Btw, checked out the Donut Factory - “which started up as the famous donut store in Singapore” - yesterday at Suntec City Mall. There wasn’t a long queue at that time compare to other time, almost went to try it out and get a half-dozen for my cravings. Maybe I should give them a try one day. Just checked out their website now, it is saying that an advanced ordering system is being developed. Cool. People might not have to queue long for their donuts now and I believe this will be one of their winning point.

I have tried on Munchy Donuts, they just winning my heart on my first visit. Worst, when you just bought half a dozen, they pack the doughnuts in a plastic box which you will get when you purchase some traditional cakes and pastries from the market. And when asked about it, they just said they ran out of box. What an excuse. There are still plenty of boxes available. And what? one of the cashier is just so impolite to repeat one of my friend’s accent when talking about the donuts selection. Luckily she doesn’t noticed it and I am the only one noticed it. Its the biggest drop off point for the first and one time customer. If I meet the same again, I will not hesitate to do it the Singapore way. You know what I’m saying. ;)

And to add on, one from Malaysia that caught my attention is the “Big apple Donuts and Coffee”. Similar logo, similar donuts, similar name, similar packaging, even exactly same words and pictures on the storage and microwave instructions on the box. To whom? You know yourself. Have not had the chance to check it out as it was too far @ The Curve Mutiara Damansara. Maybe next time.

Recently due to the donuts crave around Singapore, I can see that most, well actually almost all of the bakeries were selling their own donuts varieties as well. Ranging from mini donuts, fruits toppings and many more. Furthermore, they have challenging pricing too, not much cheaper than the other premium donuts store. And slowly, more and more brands of donuts are coming up. Some even have the same donuts flavor and similar naming as J.CO donuts. What a world without a replica isn’t it? Everywhere you can see the same.

Hm.. what’s with donuts anyway? I have no idea. Maybe because people are following the trend. At times when I saw people queuing for their donuts and some carrying boxes of donuts around, I told them silently inside my heart: Fat fat fat! You are so.. gonna be fat. :P So evil of me.

Just to add up more, if you are wondering where to get J.CO donuts nearest to you (apply to Singapore only), go to Mega Mall Batam Center at Batam Island - Indonesia, and you will get your cravings easily. But be ready to pay the average SGD 40 for the two-way trip. :p Just kidding. I mean you can look for it if you happened to be around. Phone: (0778) 470 507

:) Happy J.CO-ing.. err… donut-ing?

Did you guys still remember these two famous chocolate with free toys that you used to see on television and begging your mom to buy them everytime there is a new toy that came with it?

Yeah… those are part of my childhood snacks and I used to buy two of them just to get the toys.

Earlier when I was in KL at 7-11, I saw these two still on the racks, so I get them to give it a try. Well, the chocolate does not taste as good though, at least for me, I don’t really like it now compare to the Me during my teenagers time. :)

Ding dang and Tora has the same chocolate in it, but they have different types of toys and I think Tora has a bigger toy, while Ding Dang has a smaller one.

A short post on revisit to Little Penang Cafe @ Mid Valley Megamall. A week back, I went to KL for a short break before my move to a new job. It was a great time. I took this chance to eat as many foods that I have missed so much. Sadly, not all I can have within the limited time and considering the bad outcome it could give to my body. :)

So, there is this famous Penang fried Kway Tiaw from Little Penang Cafe. This is the first dish that I tried the first time I went to Little Penang Cafe. It took 10 minutes to wait, comparing to other foods which does not have waiting time. Perhaps because it is cooked fresh on every order.

First, I will let the pictures do the talking here. :) Enjoy…

There are fresh prawns, eggs, a little crab meat on top and all the basic ingredients in fried kway tiaw.

Food food food again. Missed all nice foods in KL and PJ. After New Year, I continue my trip to KL to meet up with some friends. Thanks to Irwan that he came back just on the right time that I am going to KL. So I had a place to reside. It was a super convenient that he lives near Bangsar Shopping Complex. Easy in easy out.

The first night I was in KL, we went for Pizza Uno at Taipan Business Park. Our ocassional eating place. Nice food, nice drinks, nice environment and price wise still okay. No pictures for that, too busy eating and chatting. :p Or was I too shy to take out my camera and shoot. Btw, I took a picture of my Con Salmon Fetuccine. Yummy.

Okay, enough about that. Back to the main topic. On the day I was suppose to leave KL during the afternoon, I manage to drop by Mid Valley Megamall again for the last time for a quick go around and had lunch there on few food choices that I have been missing. Its gonna be either Madam Kwan’s, Little Penang Cafe, or Nando’s. Continue reading »
