Being a user of Altec Lansing eversince year 2000, I haven’t even actually changed my speaker at all. Yeah.. that Altec Lansing from year 2000 still around now, and pumping. Doing good and never fail.

So, that is for a great speaker with great sound, but of course you have to fork out more fund. Being back in this very town in Sumatra island - Indonesia, people don’t actually buy expensive stuffs nor even collect or follow up gadgets. Pretty sad I would say. So, for economically aware person, and who doesn’t want to sacrifice much for their comfort, this speaker is suitable for them. The Sonic Gear ego3nity. Priced ranging from Rp. 200.000 - 280.000 (USD 16), it is just nice for you to have great sound and bass for your home PC or laptop at home, and can actually satisfy your need.

The maximum sound volume is just enough, but not enough for those who are looking for a home theatre-like quality and volume. Continue reading »

Being a reseller myself, I will have more chances to review products that I sold, and soon I will add on more on the quality products, like more iCute casing, more speakers, and many more. This time around, having two different level of laptops from Acer with me, allows me to give it a comparison.

Comparison is what customers like the most when choosing which to get. I like to have at least two different types of same category gadgets and have the customer choose them based on their preference and budget. :)

Acer 4730 and 4930 are both different level of laptops but they are similar in the case design. Acer 4730 is the Intel Core Duo (Dual Core) series laptop, while 4930 came with Intel Core 2 Duo processor (this applies only to the laptops used in this review, there might be AMDs processors in 4930 or 4730 as well).

Talking about gadgets, for some general users; that includes novice users, will more likely go for one brand that they have been hearing from people and stick to that one. Die die must get that brand.

I used to be brand conscious as well, and only go for some good brands. Of course there is a point there. Those well known brands have quality and standard. But that does not mean the others does not have standards and quality as well.

One simple example that I often meet, lets take Flashdisk for example. There are many brands of flashdisk and designs out there. Out of all these, some are expensive, some are damn cheap. As for my own preference, I will go for Sandisk. I don’t know why, its just because I like their design and their price. Back here in this small town, Sandisk can’t fit in as it is quite expensive, and people here are damn stingy. So, what fits in? Kingston. It fits in with other cheaper brands like AData, and I myself introduce to them PenDrive (from Malaysia).

So, what is your preference amongst these? You can guess. Everyone who came to my shop, will ask for Kingston first. Some can accept a change of brands providing that we show them how much differences they make. Indeed, there aren’t much differences apart from the design and the chips used. So, out of 10 people who look for Kingston, 8 of them die die must get Kingston. No matter what, eventhough other brand is more expensive or even cheaper. Let say if I were to introduce Sandisk here, the same will applies.

Unless you did some deep comparison and pro and cons of choosing this brand over the other. And that sometimes does not applies to brick headed customers who die die must get (insert a name) brand. I have been staying with this single brand for 2 months and doing good introducing it to the others who are willing to change. That applies to other products and brands as well. At least it happen the most in this town - Dumai. The need for educating the customers are really high and a must.

What will you say about Brand Conscious? I myself will think twice for other brands as long as they show some quality and impression. First impression is always the winning point.

If you have problem with your laptop’s LCD screen like some ran out colors out of sudden, and when the warranty is over, you can resort to this trial of becoming hero to your own laptop.

Its pretty easy to open this Laptop’s LCD. Locate all the rubber studs on each corner of the LCD, use ur finger nail to pull it out. It will reveals all the screws. Unscrew all, and slowly take out the front plastic case.

Be careful in handling the LCD panel, and don’t press the side. Take a yellow pages and put it behind the Laptop to rest the LCD cover. Beware of the cables connecting it to motherboard.

So, the common cause of your LCD became haywire and showing all sorts of colors and motion messing around is the cables. So, try to check the cables, align it back and try to press lightly on the cable to make sure it is not bent. After some touch here touch there action, you can rest the LCD on the back cover that is already resting on the Yellow Pages.

Now, power on your laptop to check the LCD condition. Once you confirmed it is fine, shut down. Put back everything in place and screw back. Stick back all the rubber studs to the position and Voila. Your LCD problem is solved without having to send it to service center. :)

It is not suggested for any laptops that are still under warranty. It will void your warranty and might spoil your LCD screen for good if you did a mistake or break anything inside recklessly. Cheers.

iCute has been known for their good casing quality, and also what I have been using since 2000. I still have my old iCute with me here, super heavy and you can’t even carry it with one hand. Thanks to the AcBel PSU which makes it even heavier. :)

So, being one reselling iCute, and I got an order for Super-18 Case which is the high tower and used for server or gaming rigs. The code for it is S18-5G1-BB. The moment when the case arrives, I got amazed on how big the box is. It is huge…

Without waiting any longer, I open up the box and took the case out for a quick glance and thorough review. This particular model came with 22cm side Panel Fan which is noiseless and definitely helps a lot in ventilating the case.

Here is one angle view to share with you all… Continue reading »
